Many women (and some men) want to be fashionable. However, the high cost of designer fashion wear makes it exceedingly difficult for them to do so. A pair of Jimmy Choo pumps costs at least $700 while a Chanel handbag costs over $3,000.
But just because these stylish high-end accessories are reserved for the wealthy few doesn’t mean you can’t be fashionable. You can be fashionable even with a small budget. Here are some tips to help you:
1. Shop at thrift stores.
You won’t believe at the amazing finds people see at thrift stores. There are beautiful dresses, tops, bags, shoes and jeans in these shops such as Esgesee-Vogue in Malaysia. They won’t cost you a fortune. Many of the items they sell are usually last season’s collections but if you have a great taste in fashion, you could very well look like a million dollars from the clothes you buy at thrift stores.
2. Have all the wardrobe staples.
Every woman should have these – a little black dress (LBD), a white button down shirt, khaki pants, earth color bag, nude pumps, red pumps, a pair of boots, a blazer, tight black pants, a few scarves and accessories. You don’t have to have a walk-in closet the size of your bedroom to be fashionable. As long as you have all the essentials, you can mix and match them and look chic every time.
3. Go for timeless fashion.
You don’t have to change your wardrobe every time new trends come in – there will always be something new in the fashion world and you’ll only end up spending all your money if you keep following the latest styles. Choose classic fashion so that you’ll never run out of style.
Finally, make sure you have the confidence in wearing fashionable clothes. Even if you’re wearing a $5,000 Oscar de la Renta, if you don’t look confident, you’re only going to be wasting your money. Remember, it’s the wearer, not the dress that makes it fashionable. So, choose clothes that are comfortable and look good on you and pair them up with the right accessories.
